Abstract

Pancasila, as the foundation of the state and the national ideology, plays a crucial role in shaping the nation's character as well as maintaining Indonesia’s unity and integrity. However, the values embodied in Pancasila are currently facing serious challenges, particularly among the younger generation. Influences from foreign cultures, moral degradation, a weak conceptual understanding of Pancasila, and the suboptimal implementation of character education are among the main factors that hinder the internalization of Pancasila’s values in daily life. This study adopts a qualitative method with a narrative observational approach and a literature review based on various relevant sources. Although the findings indicate that the younger generation holds a strategic role in preserving the existence of Pancasila, they encounter significant obstacles in practicing its values within the digital era. Therefore, adaptive and innovative strategies are urgently needed to overcome these challenges, including strengthening character education based on Pancasila, utilizing digital platforms to disseminate national values, and enhancing digital literacy so that young people can develop critical thinking skills when navigating the global flow of information. Through consistent and targeted efforts, it is expected that the younger generation can become the frontline defenders in maintaining the relevance of Pancasila as the guiding principle of the nation amidst the constantly evolving global dynamics.
