OPTIMALISASI PERAN GURU PPKN DALAM PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SISWA UNTUK PENGUATAN CIVIC DISPOSITION (Studi Kasus tentang Nilai Disiplin Siswa di SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo)

Abstract


Optimizing the teacher's role is everything that must be owned by a teacher in order to optimally improve teacher performance to carry out the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and evaluating students. This research article aims to determine the optimization of the role of Civics teachers in forming the character of student discipline to strengthen civic disposition at SMK PGRI 2 Ponorogo. This research was conducted through qualitative research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive samples and random samples. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, participatory observation and document analysis. The validity test technique was carried out using method triangulation and data source triangulation. Data analysis using interactive analysis techniques. The results showed that the optimization of the role of PPKn teachers in improving student discipline was not realized as follows: (a) The teacher as a guide, the teacher seeks to guide and direct student behavior in a positive direction both in learning (supporting learning through discussion methods) and outside learning (directing student behavior); (b) The teacher sets an example by showing good disciplinary behavior to students (action discipline and time discipline). It can be seen that in optimizing the role of the PPKn teacher, there are also obstacles in improving the disciplinary character of students.
