PANCASILA AND CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION AS A STRATEGY TO REALISE THE PROFILE OF PANCASILA STUDENTS IN GRADE VIII STUDENTS AT SMP NEGERI 8 SURAKARTA

Abstract


The research aimed to: (1) Examined the crucial role of Pancasila and Citizenship Education in realizing the Pancasila Student Profile for eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Surakarta. (2) The hindering factors in achieving the Pancasila Student Profile for eighth grade students through Pancasila and Citizenship Education at SMP Negeri 8 Surakarta. This research was a descriptive qualitative study. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data collection methods included interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data validity was tested through data triangulation and methods. Furthermore, data analysis utilized the interactive analysis model. The research findings concluded that: (1) The role of Pancasila and Civic Education is to instill character traits that align with the six main characteristics of the Profil Pelajar Pancasila to students through every classroom learning activity. (2) Hindering factors in realizing Profil Pelajar Pancasila were internal constraints. These internal constraints stemmed from students who often lost focus during classroom learning. Additionally, the non-conducive external classroom environment was also one of the reasons for students' lack of concentration in their studies.
